Muvhango’s Matshidiso Says Everyone Believed She Was Black American
Popular media personality and actress Buhle Samuels, who shot to fame playing the role of the vixen Matshidiso Mofokeng on SABC 2 telenovela Muvhango, has revealed that she went through school with most people assuming that she is black American.
The stunning goddess said that many of her school mates made the erroneous conclusion after noting her excellent command of British language. She added that the assertions were furthered by the fact that she struggled with vernacular languages. Buhle says she was not fluent in isiZulu due to the school she had attended in her formative years.
The Matshidiso actress who is regarded as the total package due to her body structure, brains, looks and talent, revealed this in an interview saying,
“How it started was that people thought I was a black American because I spoke English, but I wasn’t. I just didn’t know how to speak Zulu because of the school I attended. I struggled with vernacular.” said Buhle.
Buhle also highlighted that the erroneous assumption caused massive problems for her in school as bullies started picking on her. She said some of her school mates were not too fond of learning with someone who seemed more superior or someone they thought was black American and perhaps to assuage their own insecurities, they started picking on her.
But just like some of the characters she has portrayed, Buhle rose to the challenges and faced up to the bullies.
“One day during my first year at high school I stood firm and told the tormentors where to get off. Ever since that day I never allowed such behaviour.”
The beautiful actress has proved that she is a force to reckon with in the entertainment industry and we continue looking forward to being awed by her future projects.
