2020 was a tragic year for Mzansi celebrities who lost their loved ones due to Covid 19 and other natural causes. This week Da LES, Dr. Tumi, and many more announced the passing of their loved ones on social media.

Dr. Tumi took to Facebook to announce the passing of his father; Pastor MD Makweya:


“Hi, Fam. So sad to announce about the passing of my dear dad. He was such a beautiful gift to our family and the body of Christ. So humbled and honored for the years God blessed me with him in my life. It was such a great honor to be called his son. One of the greatest gift was him raising me to know Christ and showing me the unfailing love of a father. This is such a great loss in my life and our family. I will deeply and greatly miss him. ”

Multi-award-winning rapper; Da LES announced the passing of his father; Leslie Jonathan Mampe SNR.

The rapper tweeted last night: “R.I.P Leslie Jonathan Mampe SNR.” He didn’t mention the cause of his father’s passing in the tweet!

Media sibling-personalities; Khanyi Mbau and Lasizwe also lost their father; Menzi Mcunu this year. The Mbau Reloaded reality TV star tried to stay positive in public, on her show, and on social media for her loved ones. 

 

Steel Tsoso tweeted to the star:

I saw you grabbing the bull by the horns during your father’s funeral service, I understand that someone had to, but please remember to give yourself time to cry, and break down we all know that you are daddy’s little girl Mina ubabakho I know him ngwawe…you are loved.”

Khanyi replied: “When that moment comes I will.”

Idols SA judge; Somizi shared with the world that his mother; Mary Twala had passed away on his late father’s birthday.
The reality star broke the sad news on social media: “the tree has fallen. I’m shattered to the core…..but I’d be very selfish if I don’t release her….my mom lived to the fullest….achieved beyond her dreams….its hurts like hell…..I won’t lie…..a day without her calling to either say I love u or give me money.”
