Mzansi is buzzing with excitement after superfan Mama Joy proudly welcomed her French boyfriend, affectionately known as Papa Joy, to South Africa for the very first time. The highly anticipated visit comes after Mama Joy’s trip to Paris earlier this year, where she supported Team South Africa during the Olympics in July and August.

On Friday night, Mama Joy took to her official X (formerly Twitter) account to share the exciting news that Papa Joy was finally en route to South Africa.

She wrote:

“Papa Joy is coming to South Africa. Finally, ⁦@ChrisExcel102 … Papa Joy [is] inside [an] Air France flight. I can’t wait to welcome him at OR Tambo. Guys, you’ve been waiting for Papa Joy to do the right [thing]. Now is the time. Watch the space.”

A Warm Welcome at OR Tambo

Twelve hours later, Joy Chauke updated her fans that her beau had landed at OR Tambo Airport. She posted pictures of the joyful reunion with her French boyfriend and a welcoming party at the airport. Mama Joy expressed her gratitude to everyone who came to celebrate Papa Joy’s arrival. She revealed that they were headed to Cape Town to watch the Springboks vs. New Zealand match.

“Thanks, guys for coming to the airport to welcome my Papa Joy. On our way to Cape Town [for the] ⁦@Springboks game … It’s happening. That’s the start of Papa Joy’s trip in SA,” Mama Joy wrote.
