The transportation giant Bolt has taken immediate action by blocking a driver from its platform following allegations that he stabbed two female passengers during a heated altercation in Cape Town. This course of action taken by Bolt has only further enranged South Africans. Many are worried about the crimes their drivers are being accused of.

Incident Details

The incident occurred over the weekend in Table View when a dispute arose between the driver and his passengers regarding the drop-off location.

According to reports from Women for Change, a nonprofit organization, the driver allegedly initiated violence by assaulting one of the passengers seated in the front. Subsequently, the women attempted to escape, but the situation escalated as the driver pursued them on foot.

The picture of the women trended on social media after the stabbing. Many people came forward with allegations of having stolen from or dumped by other Bolt drivers. This raised concerns that the taxi company was hiring criminals to operate as drivers which is a cause of concern for passengers.

Women for Change condemned the incident, emphasizing the need for greater safety measures within the transportation industry to protect passengers, particularly women.

Photos circulating on social media depict the aftermath of the altercation, showing two women on the ground, with one sustaining a severe wound on her back.

Bolt is very dodgy and most of their drivers are foreigners who most of them are illegal. I deleted that app many years ago. Uber at least is reliable for me.
