Jacob Zuma, the leader of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, has left his supporters in stitches after appearing to hop on the viral Mr Price microphone trend during a recent address.

On Wednesday, the former South African president used the popular Mr Price karaoke microphone to address MK Party supporters.

Zuma’s Address with the Viral Microphone

After South Africans went to their respective polling stations to exercise their democratic right, Jacob Zuma’s MK Party shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) showing the veteran politician thanking people for voting for his party in large numbers.

Eagle-eyed social media users quickly noticed that Jacob Zuma was using the viral Mr Price karaoke microphone. The karaoke mic became popular in such a short period and was dubbed “the new pandemic”. Valued at just R94,99, The South African reported that Mr Price eventually discontinued it. The microphone has become a viral sensation, with South Africans from all walks of life using it in various setups. It recently went viral after parents used it to silence crying babies.

MK Party Surpasses One Million Votes

In related news, as of 12:30 on Friday afternoon, the MK Party had secured just over 1 million votes, with the majority coming from the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal. The MK Party is currently in third place nationally with 11.66% of the votes, surpassing the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) as the national votes were announced.
