Mzansi Laughs After a Man is Scammed by a Catfish Pretending to be Cindy Makhathini, Loses R8k After Paying to Have a Video Call with “Her”

Mzansi streets have been buzzing after it emerged that a man was scammed by a catfish pretending to be slay queen Cindy Makhathini.

The unidentified man was left reeling and counting his losses after the catfish swindled him out of R8 000.

Man Loses R8k to Catfish Posing as Cindy Makhathini

The development came to light after popular X influencer Chris Excel shared it on his X account, formerly Twitter.

The unsuspecting man reportedly paid a whopping R8k in hopes of having a video call with Cindy Makhathini.

However, despite making the payment, his attempts to video call the given number were unsuccessful as the catfish did not pick up.

“A Brother crying there on my DMs. He says he paid R8K to video call Cindy Makhathini & she’s nowhere to be found 🤣🤣🤣,” Chris Excel wrote.

After numerous unsuccessful attempts at video calls, the man came to the realization that he had fallen victim to a scam.

As it turns out, the naive man fell prey to Cindy Makhathini’s catfish as Cindy Makhathini does not have an X account; she only has an Instagram account. On her Instagram page on her bio, she even made it known that she does not own a Twitter account.

Apparently, someone created the fake account on Twitter and regularly posts pictures and videos of Cindy Makhathini pretending to be her. The person who is managing the account seems to have now resorted to scamming people judging by this latest incident.

The surprising revelation of a man being swindled out of R8k by Cindy Makhathini’s catfish has left Mzansi rolling on the floor with laughter. Netizens are poking fun at the man for paying such a substantial sum with the intent to have a video call with Cindy Makhathini.
