The new host of Sizok’thola, Xolani Maphanga, and the Moja Love boss are in danger as a Russian drug lord is after their blood.

The New TV Drugs Buster

Last month, the channel announced the new host, Xolani Maphanga, who will replace Xolani Khumalo on the drugs-busting show. Moja Love dismissed Khumalo last year after he couldn’t respond satisfactorily to the channel’s inquiries regarding his awareness of and participation in illegal activities potentially affecting crime scenes, unsuccessful prosecutions of drug dealers, and unfortunate incidents linked to the filming of specific episodes. Khumalo is currently on trial for the murder of an alleged drug dealer who died during the filming of the show.

It seems the threats Xolani Khumalo faced are now on new Sizok’thola host Xolani Maphanga and the Mojah Love boss. City Press revealed that Maphanga and Aubrey Tau, Moja Love CEO, are in hiding as a Russian drug lord wants to kill them.

The drug lord and his associates hired hitmen for R500,000. Sunday World added that Moja Love hired private investigators to check why Tau was followed by suspicious men after he and his crew exposed a drug operation at Lanseria airport. Later, Tau and Maphanga received death threats on their phones from unknown people who want them to stop the show.

Sizok’thola has seemingly ruffled the drug industry. Because of the dangers the show attracts, the Moja Love CEO and Maphanga have buffed up their security measures. They are vowing never to back down.

Moja Love’s channel head, Bokani Moyo, told Sunday World that the station is aware of the risks and is doing everything to ensure the safety of its personnel. Moyo reiterated that the station is obligated to highlight issues that affect society and that no amount of intimidation will stop them from doing their job.
