Controversial music executive Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi was arrested again at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court while appearing for a separate rape case.
Nota, out on bail, was issued a warrant of arrest during the hearing, linked to a contempt of court charge involving rapper Ntokozo “K.O.” Mdluli.
Nota Baloyi Arrested Again
The contempt charge stems from Nota’s failure to comply with a court order obtained by K.O., who had requested Nota cease sharing allegations connecting him to the murder of late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.
K.O., known for his hit “SETE,” had previously sought the order after Nota posted online claims implicating him and his family in AKA’s February 2023 killing in Durban.
In February, Nota alleged on social media that K.O.’s brother, Siya Mdluli, who was AKA’s road manager and present at the time of the shooting, was involved in a conspiracy leading to AKA’s death.
K.O. and his family firmly denied the accusations and turned to the court for an order barring further defamatory statements. The court’s latest order authorised Nota’s arrest and detention for 60 days, directing police to hold him in a Gauteng prison.
“The Sheriff of the court and the South African Police Service are directed to take the respondent into custody and to deliver the respondent to the Leeuwkop Prison or any other prison within Gauteng for a period of sixty days,” the court order reads.
The Case Involving Itumeleng Bokaba
Nota’s legal issues intensified on Thursday as he was appearing on a separate rape matter involving accuser Itumeleng Bokaba. That case, initially postponed for verification of WhatsApp communications between Nota and Bokaba, has now been deferred to January 28 as prosecutors await additional evidence and consultation outcomes.

Nota’s attorney, Matamela Khorommbi, told Sunday World that further delays in the case were caused by the unavailability of the docket and the investigating officer.
“The court could not get hold of the investigating officer. As things stand, we do not know whether those WhatsApp chats were verified or not, so the matter has been postponed for docket and for the outcomes of the consultations,” Khorommbi said.
