Nota Baloyi Slams Cassper Nyovest for “Childish” Comments About A-Reece on Podcast

Rapper Cassper Nyovest recently found himself at the center of social media backlash after describing fellow artist A-Reece’s music career as “niche” during an interview on The L-Tido Podcast.

The remark sparked immediate reaction from A-Reece’s fans—and now, controversial music executive Nota Baloyi has entered the fray.

Taking to social media, Nota didn’t mince his words. He criticised Cassper for prioritising trivial drama over more pressing national issues.

Nota Baloyi: “Our Country Is Tearing at the Seams”

In a strongly worded post, Nota wrote:

Sad Cassper went to L-Tido to discuss stupid immature nonsense. Our country is tearing at the seams, & all he has to offer is beefing with A-Reece. Nah, grootman tsa lona tse childish, smh!”

The statement not only calls out Cassper’s recent behavior but also points to a broader frustration with South African celebrities who, in Nota’s view, are failing to use their platforms responsibly.

A Call for Bigger Conversations

Nota’s criticism highlights what he believes is a lack of leadership from influential public figures. With issues such as poverty, load shedding, and political unrest affecting millions, he argued that entertainers like Cassper should use their reach to drive important conversations rather than indulge in industry feuds.

Here are some of the reactions;

@dme_363;

The only thing Cassper Nyovest has over A-Reece is money and popularity. But musically, he is nowhere near the lyrical level of Reece. Y’all gave a wack rapper too much bragging rights.

@hottythecreator;

The difference between Cassper Nyovest and A-Reece is that A-Reece doesn’t pay TikTok influencers to make his song go viral.

@swiiiiiidad;

Casper thrives on Beef. There’s literally nothing he can do without beef because it is the only momentum he knows that gives him a 101% push over his normal limit. He is not an intellect. Hence, he has a problem with the like of @Solphendukaa, the late Ricky and AKA.
