Nota Baloyi Hands Himself Over
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Nota Baloyi announced his decision to surrender to the authorities.
He shared his emotional state, writing,
“Handing myself in at Randburg Police station and hoping for the best. Please keep me in your prayers. This is officially the worst day of my life so far.”
To further confirm his actions, Baloyi later posted a photo of his certificate of detainee, indicating that he was now in police custody.
This development comes just days after Baloyi maintained his innocence.
“I didn’t do this; it was consensual, and I hope the law takes its course. I wouldn’t rape anyone, but hopefully that will be proven in court soon,” he said.
Nota Baloyi emphasized his belief that he did not engage in any non-consensual acts, reiterating that, although he knows the woman in question, he is confident in his innocence.
The Allegations and Legal Process
The actress Itu Bokaba expressed relief that the case was moving forward. She shared her thoughts with ZiMoja, stating,
“I’m relieved that there’s finally movement towards justice, but still anxious about whether the legal process will follow the law and not be influenced by public sentiment.”
