Orlando Pirates’ goalkeeper, Melusi Buthelezi, is currently facing legal action from two women who claim he has failed to fulfil his child maintenance obligations. The dispute led to a maintenance court case, where the women argued that they had endured ongoing struggles due to his alleged financial negligence.

One of the mothers involved in the dispute claims that Buthelezi has repeatedly failed to meet his financial responsibilities.
“He is required to pay R5,000 each month before the end of the month, yet he consistently fails to make timely payments. Now, the amount needs to be increased to accommodate the growing needs of the child, but he refuses to comply.”

She further criticized the goalkeeper for flaunting a luxurious lifestyle on social media while allegedly neglecting his parental responsibilities. “It is frustrating to see him showcasing his wealth online while failing to support his own child. It’s truly disappointing.”

The second woman involved in the dispute has chosen to voice her frustrations through YouTube, sharing her concerns about Buthelezi’s lack of support. She asserts that he has also failed to provide adequate financial assistance for her child.

Buthelezi’s Response
When approached for comment, Buthelezi defended himself, stating:
“I have been taken to court because one of my baby mamas is demanding R12,000 in maintenance, which is beyond what I can afford. As for the second woman, I recognize her from YouTube, and yes, I do have children with her.”
