Pastor Mboro Arrested After Weilding Panga at Gauteng School
Police have arrested Pastor Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng and three others following a violent incident at Matshidiso Primary School in Katlehong.
The incident occurred on Monday when a video went viral showing Mboro carrying a panga went viral on social media.

Custody Dispute Leads to School Confrontation
According to reports, Mboro forcefully entered the school and threatened teachers, allegedly in an attempt to take his grandchildren, his son’s, away from the school. The children, who are in grade R and grade 2, are currently under the care of their maternal grandmother following their mother’s death in April.
One of Mboro’s associates was also seen carrying what appeared to be a rifle during the incident. Mboro was captured on video charging at staff members who tried to intervene and record the incident.
Pastor Mboro Arrested: The Charges
Police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza stated that Mboro and three others were arrested on Monday night and will face charges including assault, reckless firearm use, operating a security service without registration, property damage, and intimidation.
“The four were arrested last night and will appear in the Palm Ridge court in due course. They are facing charges including assault, handling a firearm recklessly that could endanger lives and property, rendering security services while not registered, malicious damage to property and intimidation,” Kweza said.
A replica firearm and the panga were confiscated by the police when Mboro and his associates were arrested on Monday.
Additionally, one of the four arrested individuals is facing charges for allegedly assaulting the station commander at Katlehong North police station when a group demanded to confront Mboro outside the station.
School Classes Suspended
Gauteng education spokesperson Steve Mabona indicated that the primary school’s classes would likely be suspended for the day on Tuesday. He said they are collaborating with the Department of Social Development and police to locate the two children, who are reportedly at the home of one of Mboro’s co-accused who was arrested on Monday.
