BI Phakathi, known for his acts of kindness, extended a helping hand to Lethukukhanye Mjaji, famously known as Albany girl who became known for her infectious smile while holding an Albany loaf of bread. On a recent occasion, BI Phakathi generously donated R10,000 to support her.
Photographer Raises Concerns
Allegations arose when photographer Lungisani Mjaji disclosed that the Albany brand allegedly had not compensated him or his niece for their work. Despite their contribution, no acknowledgement or payment was received from the brand.
The brand had shared the image taken by Lungisani of his niece holding the loaf of bread and sharing it on social media. However, they refused to pay the duo, saying they do not align with their brand. Their excuse was met with outrage from South Africans on social media. Some have even started campaigns to call people to boycott their bread.

Upon learning about Lungisani Mjaji’s grievances, BI Phakathi took to social media to advocate for fairness. While urging Albany to fulfill their obligations, BI Phakathi emphasized the importance of doing the right thing.
