In an unexpected turn of events, social media influencer Mihlali Ndamase shared, then quickly removed, photos of her face covered in bruises. The puzzling part was the caption she used, which suggested her on-and-off boyfriend Leeroy Sidambe had allegedly beaten her.

Ndamase captioned the photos, “Thank you my angel @leeroy_mab,” implying Sidambe was responsible for the injuries. At the time of reporting, it remained unclear if Sidambe had indeed assaulted Ndamase and what had led to the incident.
The disturbing photos, which were posted on Ndamase’s Instagram stories, were swiftly taken down, but not before someone managed to screenshot them and share them on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
In one photo, Mihlali’s forehead appeared bruised, and her left eye was swollen on the lower lid. Another image showed the inside of her upper lip, which seemed to be split open.

The shocking visuals sent South African social media users into a frenzy, with some expressing sympathy for Ndamase, while others reacted with dark humour and sarcasm. History of Abuse Between Mihlali Ndamase and Leeroy Sidambe
This incident isn’t the first time Mihlali and Leeroy have been in the news over abuse allegations. In 2023, rumours surfaced after Leeroy was seen with a gash on his head and Mihlali was spotted wearing a cast on her leg.
A report by iHarare detailed an alleged altercation between the couple at a friend’s party at a holiday resort in Magaliesburg. A source, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed that Mihlali missed the main party because she was too intoxicated and went to her room to sleep.
Later, Leeroy reportedly showed up at breakfast with a gash on his forehead.
“It looked like someone had hit him with a bottle. I am not saying she did, but it was just the two of them in their room. Both of them know what happened there,” said the source.
The source suggested that the couple had a heated argument that night. Before this incident, Mihlali had been hospitalized with an injured leg, claiming she had fallen down the stairs. She posted a photo of herself in a wheelchair with a cast on her leg.
