South African rapper Emtee has finally opened up about why he is reuniting with his wife after their very public separation and fall out last year.

Rapper Mthembeni Ndevu, better known by his stage name Emtee, has shared that he and his wife, Nicole Chinsamy, have reconciled after a brief separation. Emtee had previously moved out of their shared residence and was living with a friend in Fourways after initiating divorce proceedings early last year.

The couple shares three children: Avery, born in 2015; Logan, born in 2018; and their youngest, Nairobi, who is just one year old.

During a recent appearance on Podcast and Chill, Emtee expressed his joy at being back with his family. “I’m fighting for my family. [Nicole] gave me three wonderful kids. We’re still working on things, and I have received some counselling,” he shared.

He went on to describe how their reconciliation came about. “We met a few times and had deep conversations. Through those meetings, we decided to rebuild our family. During the months we were apart, I felt incredibly depressed.”

Emtee speaks up on Fatherhood

In a discussion on the L-Tido Podcast, Emtee reflected on how fatherhood has profoundly changed him. “Fatherhood has transformed many aspects of my life, including how I interact with others. I am fiercely protective of my children and strive to set a positive example for them. I treat people with respect, and my kids see that. I don’t shy away from taking pictures with fans because I want my children to understand the importance of respecting everyone, regardless of their status in life.”
