Rhythm City Actress Itu Bokaba Rubbishes Rumours Mr Brown Is Married
The former Rhythm City actress Itu Bokaba recently spoke out about her relationship with musician Mr Brown, debunking rumors that their breakup was due to his marriage. In an interview with The South African on June 14, Bokaba revealed that the real reason behind their split was Mr Brown’s emotionally abusive behavior towards her.
“First and foremost, let me clarify that the reason for our breakup was not due to Mr. Brown’s alleged marriage or the impending arrival of a baby. These claims are entirely baseless and false,” stated Bokaba. “The truth is that our relationship ended because of his narcissistic and emotionally abusive behavior toward me. It is disheartening to see such important details misrepresented, as it not only distorts the truth but also perpetuates harmful stereotypes and fuels xenophobia.”
Bokaba emphasized that her decision to enter a relationship with Mr Brown was not based on superficial factors. She believed he was a good person, but over time, it became clear that he had been manipulating her through love bombing. Bokaba expressed the deep pain she experienced falling victim to his traps and the emotional toll it took on her well-being.
Clarifying Misreported Information
On June 6, Zimoja reported that Bokaba and Mr Brown had broken up, and a close friend of the musician claimed that Bokaba was unaware of his marital status and the impending arrival of a child. Bokaba clarified that the only accurate piece of information in the article was the existence of a baby, which she was previously unaware of.
“I must also point out that the only accurate piece of information in the article was regarding the existence of a baby that I was previously unaware of. If this claim holds any truth, it signifies that the baby was conceived during our relationship, as a result of Mr. Brown’s infidelity,” explained Bokaba.
She further shared that the revelation of the baby came through a direct text message from Mr. Brown himself, after she unblocked him to assist with negotiations for a young girl they were helping in the music industry. Bokaba expressed deep distress upon discovering this fact and stated that it further validated the emotional abuse she endured during their time together.
