SABC1 Cancels Uzalo
There are reports that host channel SABC1 has decided to cut off Uzalo production for the meantime.
This does not mean that SABC1 is cancelling the show, but they have decided to postpone the scheduled date for season 7 shooting, as the production and the soapie try to sort out their contractual issues.
This was revealed by renown entertainment commentator Phil Mphela who tweeted.

Uzalo is a telenovela produced by Stained Glass Productions, which is co-owned by Kobedi “Pepsi” Pokane and former president Jacob Zuma’s daughter, Gugu Zuma-Ncube.
It began airing in 2015, and quickly became a hit, due to its compelling storytelling, writing, direction and the stellar performances of the relatively unknown cast.
A few weeks ago, there were reports that Uzalo had been put on notice by SABC1 and were told come up with creative storylines or face being cancelled, following months of “boring” content and declining viewership.
Two board members and a member of the production revealed that SABC1 discovered that some actors were also being paid paltry salaries and the public broadcaster believed this might have also contributed to the poor storylines and poor performances as the actors might have been disgruntled.
Looks like Uzalo might need to sort out a few issues and come back better than ever when they shoot season 7.
