Sechaba Pali, well-known for his soul-stirring gospel tunes, experienced a life-altering event on September 10, 2023. He had been attending an event in Welkom, accompanied by his wife, Nompilo Shabangu, who was behind the wheel that fateful morning.

As they journeyed back home following the event, events took a heart-wrenching turn when they reached Boitumelo Junction. Sechaba is still trying to come to grips with the immense loss of his beloved wife in the accident.

“I don’t know how to explain to my children that I left with their mother, but she will not be coming back with me. I am heartbroken. Mpilo was an amazing singer. She was a great mother, and I am heartbroken. I lost the mother of my child. Mpilo was a giving woman of God. A few minutes before the accident, she gave some kids who were hungry R200 for food,” he told TshisaLIVE.

Sechaba also revealed that he had a gut feeling about the trip before they set out.

“It was my son’s birthday. I wanted to spend time with my son and daughter, but Nompilo insisted we go because she felt we hardly get to spend time alone without the kids. I told her that something was off, but she begged me that we go.”
