When contacted for a statement, Pearl mentioned that her husband’s delegation arrived late for the lobola payment and was not allowed to proceed, as their customs dictate that such ceremonies should take place early in the day.
“I won’t explain myself to anyone. We all do things differently Ntate Sello and his family did come but it was already after 5pm and according to our customs, we don’t accept lobola late,’ she explained.
