The footage shows the duo halting their top-of-the-range V-Class in the middle of a busy intersection, confidently stepping out of the car to create content during the festive season.

A source close to the matter shared,

“They basically came out of the car to shoot content and held traffic in of the busiest roads during festive season and posted it on social media and guess what? It went viral.”

This incident didn’t sit well with the authorities, especially considering the ongoing efforts to crack down on irresponsible driving during the festive season. The Transport Department, in collaboration with the police, had been issuing warnings to South Africans to drive responsibly.

Authorities Condemn Irresponsible Act

According to a source, the video surfaced at a crucial time when authorities were implementing strict measures against irresponsible drivers. The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), expressing strong disapproval on Twitter (now X), labeled Naki’s behavior as “grossly irresponsible on a public road.”

Potential charges that the RTMC may bring against him include obstructing traffic and negligent driving (section 63 of the NRTA 93 of 1996), which could lead to arrest.

“We strongly condemn this action,” stated the RTMC, with spokesperson Simon Zwane emphasizing that the incident occurred in Cape Town but providing no further comments.
