Sithelo Shozi and Andile Mpisane in Legal Battle over Child Custody
Socialite and DJ Sithelo Shozi faced off against Royal AM chair Andile Mpisane in the Point Family Court on Monday in a legal battle over their child. This comes after Shozi claimed in March last year that Mpisane and his mother Shauwn Mkhize had not returned their three-year-old daughter after a visit.

Shozi Breaks Down in Tears in Court
During the court hearing, Shozi broke down in tears while a source revealed that Mpisane appeared “unbothered and bored”. The source also said that the discussion centered on the custody of the children, and that Shozi had conversed privately with Mpisane during a recess under the supervision of lawyers. “One of the lawyers said, ‘all my client wants is the child,'” the source said.
Denial of Abduction
- In January, Mpisane’s lawyer Ntsako Godi denied that the Mpisanes had abducted the child and would oppose Shozi’s application for custody. Godi told Sunday Times that “the child was never abducted and has at all times since birth been raised in the house of MaMkhize and Andile”.

The two have been at war on social media ever since their breakup in December 2021. After Andile Mpisane married Tamia, Sithelo has opened a can of worms against the Mpisanes. Andile has been exposed of GBV and Mamkhize of turning a blind eye to his violence.
The legal battle over child custody between Sithelo Shozi and Andile Mpisane continues to unfold. It remains to be seen what the outcome will be, but the case highlights the importance of peaceful co-parenting and resolving custody disputes in the best interests of the child.
