‘Umama’ hit singer, Sjava has moved back to his mom’s place in rural areas as lockdown woes bite down on artists and the music industry as a whole.

Sjava has gone broke and can’t fend for himself – while staying alone.

He has chosen to stay with his rural family back home where he can provide for them and himself, sources have revealed.

While many artists are still hanging in there after almost a year without any gigs, for Sjava, things haven’t been going well.

He did not only lose gigs due to lockdown but had also been blacklisted all this while.

False rape allegations by his former girlfriend, Zamar got him blacklisted.

Sjava had just got a gig in acting on Uzalo, but that didn’t go well. He pulled out early from the show due to the allegations.

And just when things were starting to make sense for the singer – that’s after charges were dropped, and when the lockdown restrictions were relaxed, Covid-19 cases upsurge in South Africa and a stricter lockdown had its toll on the artist.

He is now hard hit by the current lockdown, Daily Sun also confirms.

On the positive side, Sjava was recently picked by the new telenovela, eHostela for a temporary role.

He was brought in to play one of the antagonists in the show while at the same time producing music for the show, Mandla Ncgongwane, eHostela director confirmed.

“I’ve always admired his work when it comes to that, so we brought him in to basically shake things up as one of the antagonists within the story, and he’s also doing the music.”

Tough times never last and ” Linda” hit singer Sjava will be on the upside in no time as new gigs start to open for him.

We wish him the best.
