Controversial Singer And Dancer Skolopad Welcomes Baby Boy
Nonhlanhla Qwabe, popularly known as Skolopad is over the moon after she welcomed a bouncing baby boy over the weekend.

The controversial entertainer pleasantly surprised her fans and followers by announcing her pregnancy earlier this month. On Friday, November 15, 2023, she welcomed her son at a Bloemfontein hospital.
Skolopad Overjoyed As She Welcomes Baby Boy
Skolopad, who also works as a nurse, shared the news of her baby’s arrival on her social media platforms, posting an adorable photo of herself holding her newborn son’s tiny hand. In the picture, the cute baby was lying on his tummy, his knees up and his mouth agape.
At the age of 39, the singer is overjoyed to become a mother once again, her first child having been born during her teenage years. In 2018, she survived a horrific accident while with her teenage daughter. Reflecting on her pregnancy, she shared with Daily Sun:
“When I was pregnant the first time, I didn’t know anything because it was a teenage pregnancy. I’ll now get to experience a lot of things and enjoy my pregnancy.”

The pregnancy was unplanned, catching Skolopad by surprise:
“I kept on having a headache that wouldn’t stop. So, I finally went to the doctor, and they told me I was pregnant. I was so happy when I saw his little head and body. I wasn’t expecting to be a mum at this age. I’m now a gogo. I’m turning 40 this year. My daughter is also very old.”
Regarding the baby’s name, Skolopad has yet to disclose it, having asked her social media followers for suggestions while she was pregnant:
A Rise to Stardom
Skolopad gained widespread recognition in 2017 when she made headlines for wearing a provocative yellow dress at the Metro FM Music Awards. She became known for her daring outfits and performances, with some accusing her of emulating Zodwa Wabantu, with whom she has had a feud.
She has also released several songs, including “Queen Skolopad,” “Umzimba,” and “Qwabe.”
