Somizi Adds The Profession Chef To His Resume
Somizi “Somgaga” Mhlongo is a South African radio presenter, brand representative, TV show host, entertainer, choreographer, and vocalist. Presently a co-host of #TheBridge on Metro FM, the star’s break-out role was his role in the award-winning movie Sarafina in 1992. Since his first appearances in the entertainment industry, Somizi Mhlongo has piled up a number of gigs in movies and Television shows.
The most recent addition to Somizi’s TV Appearances is his show Dinner At Somizi’s. The show premiered on 1Magic DSTV and saw Somizi host many of his famous friends while discussing racy topics over a dinner which he has prepared. Dinner At Somizi’s received rave reviews was unfortunately canceled after it was slated to resume for season 2.
Claims by a man named Hastings Moeng that the show’s concept was an idea he was robbed of smeared the show’s success in Mzansi.
MultiChoice and Mzansi Magic were good to go to launch the second season of Dinner At Somizi’s, with the support of brands such as Samsung and Tastic all on board particularly after the success of Somizi’s cookbook.
Rumors from far and wide suggest that the work and progress for season two had come to a sudden stop following the fight in court initiated by Hastings Moeng against Mhlongo-Motaung, Legend Manqele.
This however did not deter Somizi from pursuing his passion in the culinary arts industry. The multi-talented entertainer took to Instagram to let his followers know that he is now officially a private chef that comes at a hefty price tag. Sharing a snap of him in the kitchen the celebrity wrote the caption,
“My first private chef gig…….I’m loving this journey…….book me but u must be pocketically fit…..I’m the rich mnisi of the kitchen……”
