Somizi Gets Back To Acting After 26 Years
Yes, you heard it right, the celebrated Mzansi star is coming back to our small screen to revive his acting career which spans from when he was just 13 years old back in 1987.
According to entertainment commentator, Phil Mphela, Somizi will be on a lead role in the upcoming film, The Gang.
This is one of many offerings we have had from the media personality, who is, once again proving that he indeed is the jack of all trades.
Somizi’s last acting gig was back in 1995 on the short film called Cry, the Beloved County where he had a short appearance while acting along with James Earl Jones, Vusi Kunene, and Eric Miyeni.
One of the big roles he has probably played was on the acclaimed Sarafina! 1992 movie where he not only played a dancer but choreographed the whole movie at a young age.
The star is back again and many cant wait to see what he has in store for them.
Being an Idols judge, a celebrity chef, an author – and being himself, had held Somizi away from getting behind the camera as an actor.
He will be starring alongside some of the industry giants including Seputla Sebogodi, Thami Ngubeni, and Kagiso Medupe among many.
The short film is still under production and will be released this year, according to sources.
