Former TV Star Sonia Mbele Visits Fugitive Thabo Bester: All Secrets Revealed

In a surprising twist, a former Generations actress paid an unexpected visit to fugitive Thabo Bester behind bars.

A stir arose when news broke that notable celebrities had made their way to Bester’s cell prior to his escape from the Mangaung Correctional facility.

However, Sonia Mbele’s visit happened after Thabo Bester had already been apprehended again in Tanzania, along with his partner-in-crime Dr Nandipha Magudumana, back in April.

Unlike those with questionable motives, Mbele’s purpose for her visit was strictly business-oriented.

Sonia Mbele’s production company had been chosen by an international group to collaborate as South African partners for creating the Bester and Magudumana documentary series.

The competition to craft a documentary chronicling South Africa’s version of Bonnie and Clyde is fierce, with streaming giant Netflix inundated with proposals to recount Bester’s audacious breakout from the Mangaung Correctional facility. Among these contenders stands the production company of former actress turned entrepreneur, Carol Bouwer.

Reports from ZiMoja suggest that Netflix is interested in a company closely connected to the pair. ZiMoja has learned that Sonia Films has outperformed Carol Bouwer Productions, taking the lead in the race.

Sources confirm that Mbele was seen visiting the infamous inmate at the Kgosi Mampuru II Prison in Tshwane, accompanied by his legal team. Rumour has it that she successfully arranged a meeting with Bester to finalize the agreement for acquiring the ‘rights’ to his story. Another insider hints at her connection with Magudumana, a bond established through her beauty clinic.

One source mentioned that Magudumana is comfortable with Mbele having the rights to their narrative due to their familiarity.

“Nandipha is comfortable with Mbele telling their story because she is familiar with her,” the source said.
