Disgruntled at Losing to a Newcomer
Evidently upset, Sibiya had received information that she would not be receiving the award, and instead, it would go to a ‘newcomer’ named King Nuba.
Expressing her frustration, Nelisiwe questioned the decision to award someone without the same celebrity status as her. She couldn’t fathom how King Nuba, a social media personality from the village of KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, had surpassed her in votes.

The actress argued that just two days prior to the event, it seemed she was leading in the votes. King Nuba gained fame through his comedy content on social media, securing various gigs as a program director at events.
Accusations of Lack of Transparency
The Best Traditional Social Media Influencer award is determined by public votes. In her impassioned attack on the behind-the-scenes decision-makers, Nelisiwe accused the organizers of an unfair process.
“This is absurd and unbelievable! How come King Nuba is ahead in votes ahead of me? There must be transparency in all this,” exclaimed the visibly frustrated actress.
Despite the organizers’ attempts to explain the voting process and calm her down, Nelisiwe stormed out of the awards ceremony, leaving attendees stunned.
