South African comedian and TikTok star Lebogang Ledwaba, popularly known as “Aus Velemina” online, has died.
He was 44.

Multitalented Aus Velemina, an artist, MC, and TikTok influencer, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, following a short illness.
Jerome Thabiso Sachane, manager and promoter of Chane Productions Management in Attridgeville, Tshwane, expressed the profound sadness across Mzansi during this tragic week.
Highlighting Aus Velemina’s significant impact on social media, Sachane remembered the comedian.
“I came across him on Facebook and saw one of his funniest videos. I sent him a message to ask him to come to the studio and he agreed. He started his career with me and produced the hit Ditshele with King P Ash and Cheese Deep with Lejeje, Caliba and Aus Velemina,” Sachane recalled to Daily Sun.

Known for his ability to effortlessly weave humour into any situation, both in and out of the studio, Aus Velemina won over countless fans with his deadpan delivery. He will be remembered for his unique blend of comedy and music, often showcasing his skills as a part-time DJ and serving as an MC at significant events, Sachane added.
In 2020, the Feather Awards recognised Aus Velemina and nominated him in the Social Media Personality of the Year category.
Jerome Sachane emphasised Aus Velemina’s broader impact:
“He has helped several associations, corporations, non-governmental organisations, private companies and artists to promote their brands and disseminate sensitive information.”
