South African Government Denies Breaking World Record Of Woman Who Gave Birth To 10 Babies, Twitter Fumes
The South African government is on record denying any knowledge of the alleged World Record holding 10 babies born in South Africa.
Phumla Williams, the director-general of Government Communication and Information Systems took to Twitter last night asking IOL to come up with its exclusive information about the alleged 10 babies born in Pretoria on 7 June 2021.
The publication had earlier revealed that Gosiame Thamara Sithole, 37, from Tembisa township gave birth tp seven boys and three girls – breaking the Guinness World Record held by Halima Cisse from Mali who, last month, gave birth to nine children.
They further alleged that the unemployed father of the kids and his wife who worked as a general store manager were appealing for help from well-wishers.
Despite information put down by the publication, it is not clear where this family resides and from which hospital the babies were given birth at.
It is not also clear whether the babies had been registered with the Home Affairs office or not.
And according to the government spokesperson’s statement, the babies remain a mystery only known to the IOL media team.
“We have spent a better part of today tracing the story of
@IOL of a woman has given birth to 10 babies! @IOL can you please help the public where this birth happened!” she said.
Piet Mhasha Rampedi, the journalist who broke the exclusive story quickly responded to the ‘distasteful message by the government spokesperson.
“Dear @mirriamp. Why are frustrating and torturing your poor soul for no reason? What stopped you from politely asking for family contacts? Throwing your toys out of the cot like an entitled Prima Donna, is so 1920 Phumla. If you can’t find it, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist,” he said.
