South African Opera Star Pretty Yende Hospitalised
Talented opera vocalist, Pretty Yende, who gave a remarkable performance at the coronation of King Charles III a week ago, has been admitted to the hospital.
On Wednesday, May 10th, the renowned opera star Pretty Yende disclosed that she had been hospitalized due to a severe leg injury.
Yende also shared that she had sustained this injury prior to her performance at the coronation of King Charles III.
She had to cancel her upcoming performance in Vienna and has apologised for being unable to take the stage.
“The opera star, who is currently in Vienna amid her performance in Manon at the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna Operahouse)” reports The Citizen.
Taking to her social media page, Yende tweeted:
“I’m so sorry to cancel my last performance of Manon @WrStaatsoper due to sustaining a serious injury on my 2nd performance. I was hoping I’d heal but unfortunately, it’s the opposite. This is how I spent eve hours before the coronation performance I need to follow medical advise.”
Pretty Yende Gives A Remarkable Performance At The Coronation Of King Charles III
According to News24, the celebrated opera singer Pretty Yende made a stunning appearance in a bright yellow gown during the coronation ceremony of King Charles III, held on Saturday, May 6th at Westminster Abbey in London.
Yende told News24:
“I take every opportunity I get. Whenever I’m invited or given a task, I do the best I can because I know that it’s not only for me but for so many of us.”
The star thanked French designer Stéphane Rolland for her custom couture in an Instagram post:
“Forever grateful to the legendary @graff for the remarkable jewels. And to the brilliant @stephanerolland_paris for my spectacular Custom Couture dress designed specifically for my performance at the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla today at Westminster Abbey”
