Phalaphala FM Radio Presenter Rofhiwa “Rampsie” Rampfumedzi Dies
South African radio presenter Rofhiwa “Rampsie” Rampfumedzi has died.
Phalaphala FM sports presenter Rofhiwa Rampfumedzi reportedly passed away after a short illness. He was 36 years old.

SABC Confirms Rofhiwa Rampfumedzi Death
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has confirmed Rofhiwa Rampfumedzi’s death in a statement.
“It is with heavy hearts the passing of its presenter, Rofhiwa Rampfumedzi, who passed away on Sunday 7 January 2024, after a short illness. Rofhiwa joined Phalaphala FM as a music compiler and then presented Zwa Mitambo, a sports show that broadcasts on Mondays to Fridays from 19h00 to 20h00 until his untimely passing,” said the SABC.
Rofhiwa embarked on his sports journalism career in 2009 at Makhado FM, a community radio station. The following year, he further honed his skills at Univen Radio, a campus radio station.
These early experiences served as the building blocks for his future accomplishments. In 2011, Rofhiwa joined Phalaphala FM as a dedicated volunteer, and his commitment and talent quickly earned him a permanent position within the organization.
During his tenure at Phalaphala FM, Rofhiwa hosted the weekday sports hour, “Zwa Mitambo,” and co-hosted the weekend sports show, Hu Duba Buse. He extensively covered prominent events such as the FIFA World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations
