South Africans have mocked US actress Tiffany Haddish for her reaction after walking into a Zimbabwean grocery store.
This came after the stand-up comedian touched down at Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe over a week ago.
Tiffany Haddish Thrilled In A Zimbabwean Store
While acclimatising herself to the Zimbabwean morning, Tiffany Haddish expressed surprise after getting into a Zimbabwean grocery store:
“So I’m out here in Zimbabwe in Harare and look at the grocery store. They got a GROCERY STORE. It’s beautiful in the grocery store. Look at these organic strawberries. This is what I love. They sell sugarcane. This is fire. Look at this store. It’s huge. It’s absolutely humongous. In Africa baby.”
Haddish walked around the shop, gazing at all the items on the shelves and showing her shock to her fans. The mundane items that tickled her fancy included cups, soft drinks, dog food, sugarcane and cookies.

The reaction sparked mixed sentiments amongst Zimbabweans and as the video circulated, South Africans also joined in to criticise her.
Sukie:
“We need to start making Americans take the IELTS and other tests before they can come to African countries.”
Ofentse:
“Tiffany Haddish is surprised that there’s a grocery store in Africa..?😕 What’s wrong with these people?”
Munya:
“It’s not her fault. We have done a great job of branding ourselves as cave dwellers.”
Rennaisance:
“I think she is just excited to be there. As she said in the video, “I like to demystify.” Give her grace and blame the Western education system and media for how they educated ‘us’ on Africa. I had to educate myself about the greatness of Africa out of my own curiosity.”
