South Africans Poke Fun at Mmusi Maimane As His Political Party BOSA Trails Behind in the 2024 General Elections
Build One South Africa (BOSA), South African political party president Mmusi Maimane has become the butt of jokes on social media over his party’s poor performance in the general elections.
Yesterday, millions of South Africans went in their numbers to various polling stations to cast their votes.
As the counting of the votes continues, the ANC, Umkhonto Wesizwe, DA, and EFF are leading the race in the elections. Mmusi Maimane’s party, however, seems to be trailing behind.
It is looking a bit grim for him as his party has not secured any seats in parliament as of yet.
Mmusi Maimane Expresses Gratitude to Voters
Taking to his X account, Mmusi Maimane expressed gratitude to his supporters and those who voted for him and his party.
“Thank you to all South Africans who voted for @BuildOneSA. This election is a historic one,” he wrote.
South Africans Mock Mmusi Maimane on Social Media Over Poor Election Performance
His post generated a flurry of reactions as South Africans mercilessly trolled him. Social media users opined that his wife, family, and friends are the only people who voted for him, judging by the few votes he has garnered.
Netizens argued that he should hang up his political boots, update his CV, and look for a job or consider doing promos on X.
Another section suggested that he should personally thank each individual who voted for him, given the small number of votes he received.
