Still recovering from her injuries, Phoofolo is preparing to release a new song. In an interview with Sunday World, she opened up about her emotional struggles since the loss of her friends, explaining that she hopes to channel her grief into helping others heal through her upcoming single, MAMA.
“Through the song MAMA, I wanted to show appreciation to my late mom and to show gratitude as I am reaping the fruits of her prayers,” said Phoofolo.
She added that the song is meant to remind those who still have their loved ones, especially their mothers, to cherish them.
“But the song is to also bring awareness to those who still have their parents and loved ones, particularly their mothers, to love them like there’s no tomorrow. Those with broken relationships with their mothers should at least work on their bond. It is not easy to do this life thing without a mother,” Phoofolo explained.

A Rising Star’s Journey
Phoofolo, a solo artist from Virginia in the Free State, began her singing career in Sunday School and later joined her church’s worship team, where she performed for many years. Her big break came in early 2022 when gospel artist Ntate Teboho Moloi invited her to perform at the launch of his album Ya Re Tshepisitseng, held at Hoffman Square in Bloemfontein on March 18, 2022.
Later that year, she connected with Sliq Magagula to discuss her career prospects, and it was agreed that she would sign with Sliq Records. Since then, Phoofolo has collaborated with and performed alongside other artists from the label, further establishing herself in the music industry.
