This arrest comes on the heels of a recent high-profile case in the region. In October, the Dzanani regional court sentenced 33-year-old Kehuliso Mafune to life imprisonment for the brutal r_pe of a 17-year-old girl.

The girl’s attempt to escape ended tragically when she fell, allowing the assailant to overpower her.
