South Africa’s power couple and film moguls, Shona and Connie Ferguson, have found themselves under fire once again over their upcoming Netflix series, Kings Of Joburg.

This follows Shona Ferguson’s release of the Kings Of Joburg Trailer, announcing that the 6 part film will be released on Netflix in December.

However, fans are not enthused at the thriller’s cast.

While some may be happy to see familiar faces back on the series, some are simply tired of seeing the same faces in daytime television.

The Fergusons have been accused of recycling actors, most of them have starred on or are still starring in several Ferguson Films productions, including The Queen, The Throne and some TV dramas under different productions.

The cast includes Zolisa Xaluva, Sthembiso Khoza, Abdul Khoza, Tsholo Matshaba, Buhle Samuels, Cindy Mahlangu, and the executive producer himself Shona Ferguson.

Fans on Twitter were saying The Fergusons should open up the industry and hire other aspiring and upcoming actors, instead of using the same faces over and over again.

People have complained that the same Mzansi celebs are doing the most, from brand advertising, reality TV, acting, singing and Djeeing

One half of The Fergusons and series producer, Shona Ferguson, opened up on Kings Of it- saying it was about family and love with some action.

When I created Kings of _it! wanted to root the show in elements of love, family, conflict and power. The premise of the series is centred around the question, ‘Am I my brother’s keeper?’ and this narrative is explored in all 6 episodes. The mystical and thriller side of the story is inspired by the folk tales that I grew up learning about from my late father, Peter Harry Ferguson”monexand champagne on his coffin.
