Admitting she is currently in a difficult state, Ratile discloses that a distressing domestic violence episode occurred at her residence, involving herself, her husband, and her mother-in-law. “Domestic violence is a serious issue in South Africa, and she does not want to take this lightly, especially when it involves children. She has two step-kids and three children of their own. This is not something to joke about, and she has thought the matter through, deciding to take legal action.”

Ratile, aged 32, and her husband Lehlogonolo Elias Mabitsela, share a significant age gap of over 10 years, a fact Ratile openly acknowledged in a previous interview with ZiMoja.
“Age is nothing but a number,” Ratile stated. Juggling roles as a wife, mother, and business owner, she expressed the challenges and blessings of her life. Having two helpers assisting with household responsibilities, Ratile acknowledged her husband’s active involvement. “My husband is a well-seasoned businessman, and his knowledge has helped me with making some business decisions.” The couple, with three kids of their own and two from her husband’s previous relationship, proudly forms a blended family.
