The Queen’s Shaqueesha Bags An International Award
Better known as Lady Num in the entertainment industry, the former The Queen actress Nambitha Ben-Manzwi has been recognized by the Panache Women Of Wonders Awards as part of the top 50 great women making a significant mark in their line of work.
The Queen’s Shaqueesha left her role on Mzansi Magic’s telenovela after she revealed that it affected her big time – mentally.
She played as a paranoid schizophreniac.
Nambitha, who runs a creche as part of her charity work in Alexandra, Joburg was also recognized for her remarkable acting skills and her involvement in charity work.
Speaking on the award she received, the former The Queen actress said it took her by shock that she would be recognized by such a prestigious international awards organisation.
“To be honest, I’m still trying to process everything, but I’m grateful someone saw me deserving of the award.
“It has actually made me pause and reflect on how far I’ve come as an individual because sometimes we’re our own critics. We forget to thank and reward ourselves, and only see that when others honour us,” she said.
Nambitha’s most recent on-screen role was Shado, the villain on eTV’s Scandal!.
She has also featured in international films such as the award-winning U.S’ Black Mirror.
And she is currently featured on the upcoming Netflix original series, How To Ruin Christmas: The Wedding.
