The Wife actor Sipho Ndlovu has been arrested on assault charges just a day after getting his girlfriend taken by the police.

This startling development comes shortly after his girlfriend, Thandeka Mhlanga, was granted bail on 19 July following her own arrest related to a fight they had last weekend.

The Toxic Relationship

Thandeka claims that Sipho assaulted her after she caught him with another woman. She even shared pictures of facial injuries. In retaliation, Sipho has accused Thandeka of assault, crimen injuria, and defamation of character.

The tension between the couple erupted into a full-blown legal battle, with both parties opening criminal cases against each other.

The drama began when Thandeka was arrested on 18 July by the Douglasdale police at her workplace in Fourways, Johannesburg. She faced charges and appeared at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court, where she was granted R1,000 bail on 19 July.

But the story didn’t end there.

Thandeka wanted to get even.

Shortly after her release, Thandeka turned the tables by filing a countercharge against Sipho.

Sipho’s manager, Alexis Tshangana, confirmed his arrest to Zimoja. He stated:

“I can confirm that Sipho has been arrested. This bitter ex-girlfriend opened a countercharge against him.”

Meanwhile, Thandeka’s sister, Nonkululeko Mhlanga, expressed her frustration with the justice system. She accused the authorities of favouring high-profile people”

“My sister opened her case in Cosmo City because of the jurisdiction of the estate where Sipho stays. They kept quiet and pretended that they were going to send her the case number, which was going to force them to make an arrest.

“It was only this morning that they told my sister that they were sorry that they did not help her with the assault charges. They then referred her to Douglasdale Police Station, where we opened a countercharge against him. We want him to spend the weekend in jail.”

The Randburg Magistrate’s Court will hear Thandeka’s case on 21 August for further investigation. Sipho was present during her court appearance, adding to the tension and drama.
