‘They like embarrassing us’ Ntando Duma’s Wig Game Leaves Mzansi Cringing
South African celebrities have a rich history of wearing bad wigs. While the hair business has evolved over the years, most of our rich and famous are yet to catch up with the rest of the world when it comes to their wig and weave games. The latest local celeb to be dragged over a crusty hair piece is actress and TV presenter Ntando Zuma.
A screenshot of the star wearing a wig with the lace clearly visible has gone viral. Many South African Twitter users have shared their thoughts.
Concerns over Ntando Duma’s wig fail
Ntando Duma is currently topping Twitter trends. This is because a snap of her wig fail has made its way onto the social media app. The TV presenter now joins local stars like Khanyi Mbau and Nadia Nakai who were previously trolled for the quality of wigs they wore during the first season of Young Famous & African.
“What’s up with these wigs? These are the worst wigs I have ever seen in my life. Now I’m only in the first 12 minutes of the first episode but I’m horrified and traumatised. I’ll never put a wig on… ever again,” wrote American TikToker Champ Bailie after seeing the wigs.
And now local social media users are worried that Americans will once again start trolling South African celebs after seeing Ntando’s photo.
“American Twitter better nor see this nkosiyam,” wrote one person.
In the photo, which was taken at the premiere of Shaka Ilembe on Tuesday this week, her lace is clearly visible and haphazardly covered with foundation.
Ntando Duma faces criticism for her fashion choices
This isn’t the first time Ntando Duma has faced criticism for her appearance. Previously, she was called out for her choice of outfit at the funeral of Shona Ferguson, who passed away in 2021.
She went viral for wearing what many considered an inappropriately short skirt. Many also lambasted the mother of one for taking photos at the event.
“Kodwa, your skirt is too short for such an occasion. Couldn’t you wear something more fitting for a lady under the circumstances? Or do you want attention even at a funeral,” wrote a Twitter user commenting on her skirt.
