This Feels Personal”: Prophet Bushiri Speaks Out After NPA Moves to Auction His R50 Million Jet

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has broken his silence following the South African National Prosecuting Authority’s (NPA) announcement that it intends to sell off his private jet, valued at R50 million.

The dramatic move has reignited public interest in the long-running legal saga surrounding the self-proclaimed prophet.

Charges Dismissed, Yet Property Seized?

In a detailed public statement on Facebook, Prophet Bushiri expressed shock and disappointment over the NPA’s decision.

He questioned the logic behind auctioning his aircraft, given that the case connected to the asset had been dismissed in Malawi.

The case was removed from the court list,” Bushiri said, stressing that Malawian courts had found the allegations to be baseless.

Forex Scandal Origins and Bushiri’s R70 Million Repayment

The origins of the case stem from a forex investment scheme introduced to members of Bushiri’s church. When the platform’s operators disappeared, many investors were left in financial distress.

Bushiri claims he stepped in personally to compensate the affected individuals, paying out more than R70 million — a gesture he says was ignored by both the media and South African authorities.

Accusations of Police Corruption and Extortion

In his statement, Bushiri accused the same police officers who previously arrested him on money laundering charges of once again targeting him. Those earlier charges, he emphasized, were also dismissed by courts in Malawi.

He further alleged that these officers attempted to extort R12 million from him, and that he filed official complaints with the South African Human Rights Commission and the President of the Hawks.

No action has ever been taken,” Bushiri stated, questioning the silence of authorities on what he views as serious misconduct.

Selective Justice? Prophet Says He’s Being Targeted

Bushiri raised concerns that the NPA appeared more focused on confiscating his property than pursuing the actual perpetrators behind the failed investment platform.

“It feels personal,” he remarked, implying that his treatment may be linked to his status as a foreign national.

Despite the rising pressure and the looming sale of his jet, Bushiri insists he will not back down.

This will not intimidate me. The truth must be told,” said defiantly.
