The terrifying ordeal unfolded on the night of Sunday, September 8, at approximately 10:30 PM. Mbatha was driving along the N17 ramp heading onto the N1 highway in Johannesburg, located in the Gauteng province, when the robbery occurred.
Two men, speaking in a foreign language, confronted Mbatha and threatened him with a firearm. This unexpected events left the presenter feeling helpless and afraid for his life. He was forced to hand over his personal belongings, including his phones, during the traumatic 10-minute encounter.
