Resurfacing Controversy
Following Zahara’s passing, old interviews resurfaced, sparking accusations that DJ Sbu and TK Nciza were responsible for her untimely demise. In a Podcast and Chill interview with MacG, Zahara claimed they owed her millions and alleged that the label charged organizers up to R120,000 but only paid her R15,000.
Critics argued that the treatment Zahara endured at TS Records contributed to her drinking habits and subsequent liver complications.
TK Nciza Breaks His Silence on Relationship With Zahara
Responding to the mounting accusations, TK Nciza finally broke his silence, addressing his relationship with the late singer.
The business mogul dismissed the rumours of a strained relationship between himself and the late star. During an interview with SABC outside Rhema Bible Church in Randburg, where Zahara’s memorial service took place, he mentioned that he had a good rapport with the “Loliwe” hitmaker.
Nciza also mentioned during the interview that TS Records and Zahara had a strong and positive nine-year relationship, and at the time of her passing, there were no unresolved issues between them.
Nciza expressed,
“What I know as a matter of fact is that she is sleeping there knowing that we’re in good terms and we appreciated each other and I’m happy about that. For me to talk about this and that and so on it doesn’t make sense. I stood in front of people and explained how the music industry works. Zahara is no more. Who am I to stand and speak about this and that? Me and her were fine. We were in a good space and that’s what I appreciated. At least she left knowing that we were on speaking terms and we were good with each other and that’s what I appreciated.”
