Earlier Incident in Gauteng
This tragedy comes just days after another matric marker’s untimely death in Gauteng. Last Tuesday, a female marker lost her life following a freak accident at the Alberton Marking Centre. The teacher reportedly tripped and hit her head against a pole while leaving the centre. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries the same night.
Gauteng Education spokesperson Steve Mabona revealed that the late teacher was an isiXhosa marker.
