Tragedy Strikes as Three Children Suffocate Inside Family Car in Limpopo
In a heartbreaking incident this week, three young children died after suffocating inside a family car in Bolebedu, Tzaneen, Limpopo.
The three children tragically lost their lives after becoming trapped inside a sweltering vehicle this week. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, January 10, when two siblings went to play with their two-year-old neighbour.
Children Tragically Suffocate in Sweltering Family Car
According to IOL, the siblings, a three-year-old boy and his six-year-old sister, left their home to spend time with their young neighbour. While playing, the children entered a parked vehicle with all the windows closed, unbeknownst to them the danger they were facing.
Later, a younger relative discovered the three children unconscious inside the vehicle and immediately alerted the adults. The children were rushed to the local clinic, but tragically, two of them were pronounced dead upon arrival. The remaining three-year-old boy was transferred to Kgapane Hospital and then to Mankweng Hospital, where despite medical efforts, he was also pronounced dead.
Investigation Launched into Tragic Incident
Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the provincial police spokesperson, confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened, and police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this heartbreaking incident. Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo, has ordered a thorough investigation to leave no stone unturned in determining the cause of these “mysterious” deaths.
