Victim’s Mother Devastated
Sinenhlanhla’s mother, Baphikile Mbokazi, still struggles to come to terms with the loss of her daughter. Sinenhlanhla, driven by a strong desire to become a teacher, re-enrolled in school at the age of 22, finally reaching matric at 25. Despite facing challenges, including two pregnancies, she was determined to pursue higher education to secure a better future for her family.

“I had high hopes for my daughter,” says Mbokazi, expressing her devastation. Sinenhlanhla was eagerly awaiting her matric results, and her mother believed she had confidently passed. Now, that hope will remain unanswered.
Deceptive Plans Lead to Tragedy
The fatal encounter began when Ndumi Khumalo visited Sinenhlanhla’s mother’s house under false pretences, suggesting they go shopping for school uniforms for their children. Mbokazi recounts how she felt uneasy about their plans that day, a decision that may have spared the children from a tragic fate.
“How will I explain to the kids that their father killed their mother?” laments Mbokazi, grappling with the immense pain of losing her daughter in such a horrific manner.

Police confirm the murder of the woman
The local authorities, represented by KZN SAPS spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda, confirmed the incident, stating, “It is alleged that the 31-year-old fatally stabbed his girlfriend before taking his own life.”
