Tragic Titan Submersible Demise: Terrified 19-Year-Old Titanic Submarine Victim Was Forced To Go On Doom Trip Because Of Father’s Day

The 19-year-old student who died in the Titanic submarine was scared to embark on the ill-fated adventure but did because of Father’s Day.

This was revealed by Azmeh Dawood, the older sister of Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, to NBC News. Shahzada took his son Suleman Dawood, who had extreme reservations about going underwater.

Five Titanic Submarine Crew Dead

The Titan submersible that went missing on Sunday with five people on board suffered a “catastrophic implosion”, killing everyone on board, US Coast Guard Rear Adm. John Mauger said Thursday.

The US Navy and Titanic film director James Cameron detected an anomaly that was likely an explosion soon after Titan went missing. A large debris field containing multiple sections of the vessel was spotted some 488 metres from the bow of the Titanic by a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) scouring the seabed.

The crew onboard Titan was probably killed instantly in the implosion as it descended to the wreck of the Titanic two miles below the surface of the Atlantic Ocean. These were Hamish Harding (58), Paul Henri Nargeolet (77), Shahzada Dawood (48), Suleman Dawood (19) and Stockton Rush (61).

Shahzada Dawood’s sister Azmeh said Suleman was scared something terrible would happen and did not want to go on the Titanic adventure. However, he decided to shake off his concerns because he saw this as an opportunity to bond with his father.

“The thought of a 19-year-old trapped on that was just next level. Because, you know, the other crew members were older, they were there for their own interests. They were there for their own reasons. But Suleman was just there for a Father’s Day bonding experience.

“He had a sense that this was not okay, and he was not very comfortable about doing it. He was very, very not into doing it, but it was a Father’s Day thing. It was a bonding experience. And, you know, he wanted the adventure of a lifetime just like his father did.”
