Ukhozi FM’s Zimdollar Relieved: Missing Sister Nokuthokoza Found Alive After Five Days

Ukhozi FM presenter Zimiphi “Zimdollar” Biyela and her family have breathed a sigh of relief after her missing sister Nokuthokoza Biyela was found alive after five days. The distressed family had opened a missing person case.

A family member who spoke to ZiMoja on condition of anonymity said Nokuthokoza was found by the police on Thursday and is currently receiving medical treatment at an undisclosed facility. The family member withheld further details, including her condition and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

“She is currently in hospital getting treated. I cannot go into detail as to what happened, where she was found, we are also waiting for a full report from the family so we can also go and see her at the hospital,” the family source said.

While the family is uncertain about what to expect when they visit the hospital, they are simply grateful that she is alive.

“We are just glad she is alive. That is all that matters right now, we will deal with the rest later,” the relieved family member added.

The family became anxious when Nokuthokoza didn’t update them on her whereabouts, and her phone was turned off all day.

“It was not like her to not report where she was going and to have her phone off. We started getting worried around the evening when we could not reach her but on the second day things became really worse,” the family source explained.

Zimdollar’s family has faced a string of difficult events over the past year. In November, her brother’s 14 taxis were set on fire by unknown assailants in Empangeni. Around the same time, Zimdollar feared for her own life after making controversial comments on-air about police brutality. She accused police in KwaZulu Natal of being “trigger-happy” following a deadly shootout, a statement that led to backlash from then-Police Minister Bheki Cele, who criticized her remarks and linked them to a police officer’s death. This prompted her family to hire bodyguards for her protection.
