Uncle Waffles Breaks New Ground as First Black Woman to Headline Brooklyn Mirage
Internationally acclaimed Dj Uncle Waffles has achieved another historic milestone in her career.
Following her trailblazing performance as the first amapiano DJ to headline the Wireless Festival in July, she has now become the first Black woman to headline the prestigious Brooklyn Mirage in New York City.
Uncle Waffles Historic Performance at Brooklyn Mirage
The event, held at the renowned Brooklyn Mirage, was a significant moment for both Uncle Waffles and the amapiano genre. While the venue has previously seen performances by Black female artists like rapper Noname, Uncle Waffles is the first Black woman to take on the headlining role at this iconic venue. The venue was packed with fans eager to witness history.
The performance featured supporting acts from Kelvin Momo, Oscar Mbo, and 2wo Bunnies. International rapper JoeyBADASS also joined Uncle Waffles on stage for a special rendition of the Wadibusa remix.

Social Media Tribute and Gratitude
Elated by her achievement, Uncle Waffles took to Instagram to express her gratitude. She posted videos from the event and wrote,

She continued,
