“Wrongful And Unlawful?”: Uproar As Dr. Nandipha Fights For Freedom, Requests Swift Release From Prison
Convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester’s accomplice Dr. Nandipha Magudumana is currently contesting her arrest arguing that it was “wrongful and unlawful.”
According to The Citizen, Magudumana has urgently submitted court documents to the Bloemfontein High Court, aiming to have her arrest, alleged “abduction,” and subsequent deportation from Tanzania last month deemed as “wrongful and unlawful.”
The case is scheduled to be heard on Thursday, where further proceedings will take place.
The celebrity doctor believes that her arrest was carried out in an incorrect and illegal manner.
She is seeking the intervention of the High Court to officially declare her arrest as wrongful and unlawful and be released immediately.
Magudumana is also requesting the High Court to dismiss all legal proceedings that have been initiated against her.
She also wants the court to invalidate the Orders and Warrant issued by the Magistrate, which led to her arrest.
Magudumana is confronting several charges, including fraud, obstructing the course of justice, and aiding an inmate in their escape from Mangaung Correctional Centre in May last year.
During a virtual court appearance on Tuesday, both Bester and Magudumana had their case adjourned to the 20th of June. The purpose of the postponement is to provide additional time for the ongoing police investigations to be conducted.
